Bio

Captain Judson Brock has been running around with a fly rod in his hand since age 13.  Young Judson was soon well known by his local golf course security officers for sneaking onto the course after school to catch bass and brim on poppers. As Judson entered high school his zest for fly fishing and fly tying continued to grow and pushed him to explore new waters both fresh and salt.  Growing up on the coast of North Carolina Judson fell in love with chasing redfish on the shallow grass flats of the Cape Fear Coast. It was here he began to hone his skills and learn all he could about redfish and their environment.

Captain Brock attended college at the University of North Carolina Wilmington where he studied Outdoor Recreation Management. He spent every second he was not in class outside, exploring with a fly rod. He would drag his skiff to the nearest ramp to look for belly crawling redfish the morning of an exam, or skip out of class early on Fridays to make it to the mountains for an evening of dry fly fishing and his spring break was spent in the Everglades chasing snook, tarpon and redfish.

Judson graduated college and immediately jumped on a plane to Alaska to follow his passion and begin his career as a guide.  He worked at The Royal Coachman Lodge in the greater Bristol Bay Area.  He would have stayed there forever but the call of the salt water and the Carolina Coast was just too strong in him.  He is now a full time guide and splits his time between the summer months hunting for redfish along the Cape Fear Coast of North Carolina and the winter months chasing the bull redfish of the Louisiana Marsh.

Captain Brock’s devotion to the sport grows each day and there is nothing more he loves to do than to share this with his clients. His skills and knowledge are world class and his passion is contagious.
