Bio
Ty grew up fly fishing with his brother Clay, together they explored the numerous rivers and streams near their home in Pleasant Hill, Oregon. The more they fished, the more their passion grew for the sport, the fish and the rivers. During high school Ty began working at the Caddis Fly Shop, it was here he learned he could turn his passion into profession. His time spent at the Caddis Fly was invaluable.
Shortly after High School Ty left for Bozeman, Montana, mostly in search of powder and trout, but under the guise of a college education. During his first summer he landed a guiding job at Madison River Outfitters in West Yellowstone. The days consisted of waking up in his loaned wall tent, taking a shower in the shop basement, guiding, then back to the wall tent. This lasted for two summers. After his stint in Montana, Ty returned to Oregon to start his own guide business.
Ty now owns and operates Holloway Bros Fishing with his brother Clay. Their guide business focuses on showcasing the finest fly fishing in the state, targeting trout, summer steelhead, winter steelhead and fall chinook. With such a diverse range of species targeted, a diverse quiver of rods is necessary.
"Superior performance, durability and excellent craftsmanship are what we expect from our fly rods, that's why we choose Scott. We are honored to be on the Scott Pro Staff."
