Bio

Ty learned to flyfish on the "holy waters" of the Au Sable River in his late teens with a cheap fly rod duct-taped to a broken wrist. In 2000, he survived the gridlock of Orange County by working for Bob Marriot's, while combing the beaches for big fish and the Sierra mountains for trout.

Along the way, he became a certified casting instructor, preparing for the guide life he was destined for. After returning to his home state of Michigan, guide Kevin Feenstra took a chance on this kid, who earned his chops on the Muskegon River hunting trout and steelhead amid a cloud of cigar smoke.

But the call of the blue ribbon rivers and hunting grounds of Montana was undeniable, so here he remains, with 9 seasons under his wading belt. He's a pretty fishy dude.
